Because if you use their KYC online
It will just mention —-> you are KYC compliant and proceed further to invest
Modification in KYC will not be possible.
Once ur investment is done and on clicking above link and entering your pan number you should get the following option.
You are already KYC compliant. You may click on continue to modify your KYC details.Else click on Invest Now.
You should be ready with following
1. Self attested soft copy of your pan card
2. Your signature on plain paper
3. Your self attested front and back of voter I’d

4. Also keep your original with you when you do the procedure.

If you are not in a need of dividend don't opt for that option. Dividends are released from existing Nav itself which get reduced noticeably on the day of issue of dividend. It is advisable to go with direct growth option because whatever dividend you are supposed to get quarterly, half yearly whatever will be added in your Nav and the total amount gets into the market which compounds well. Dividend on the other hand, if they are not needed, have to be reinvested again which I feel becomes problematic. Most importantly, tax issue remains with dividend income and in growth option unless you redeem the amount after long period, the tax issue is not going to come. Read More...
