Hello Experts, I was investing via SIP in regular scheme. That I've stopped now and now I've started to invest via SIP in same scheme in direct plan. Both folios are different so now, shall I switch regular scheme to direct scheme (1st folio) and then consolidate both folio? I'm planning to switch free units (out of exit load) regular to direct scheme. Is it ok? Please guide me. Read More...

Dear Sir, I need your review for my father's investment in mutual fund, he is 69 years old retired person. He is doing SIP of ₹ 1000 in $Franklin India BLUECHIP Fund-Growth since 08/2011 & SIP of ₹ 1000 in $HDFC Mid-Cap Opportunities Fund - Growth since 09/2016. He has invested lumpsum ₹ 70,000 in $ICICI Prudential Value Fund Series 19-Cumulative ₹ 30,000 in $Reliance Liquid Fund - DIRECT GROWTH PLAN - GROWTH OPTION ₹ 11,00,000 in $Franklin India Ultra Short Bond Fund - Super Institutional Plan-Growth and he wants to invest ₹ 1,50,000 more. We may need these ₹ 12,00,000 in one or two years. So, is this property invested? @PerFinGuide @InvestSmart Read More...

Option 1:- I think at 69 age..now he should stop investing in Equities.. would suggest you to stop Investment in $Franklin India BLUECHIP Fund - Direct-Growth and $HDFC Mid-Cap Opportunities Fund - Direct Plan - Growth Option . Better to redeem and Invest that amount in $SBI Magnum Ultra Short Duration Fund - Direct Plan - Growth Even additional 1,50,000 which he intends to Invest can be Invested in $SBI Magnum Ultra Short Duration Fund - Direct Plan - Growth . $Franklin India Ultra Short Bond Fund Super Institutional Plan - Direct-Growth is Good fund and has generated high returns then any other debt fund..But has high credit risk associated being majority of Investment below AA rated instruments. Since you will need a fund in a year or two.. you can do a SWP of 1.75 lakh per month and start investing in $SBI Magnum Ultra Short Duration Fund - Direct Plan - Growth (Majority Investment is in AAA instruments). All the funds are good. Value funds are mostly multi cap but they follow value strategy and invest in fundamentally strong companies whose stock prices are at cheaper levels at present. Read More...
